Here at Quantum Chimney Services we have seen a marked increase in recent years in the number of enquiries relating to the safety and condition of existing solid fuel appliances (wood burners, open fires etc) in properties being bought or sold.
We have therefore created a specific service, available to either the buyer or vendor, that includes a solid fuel safety inspection of the flue system and associated appliance, accompanied with a detailed report on the safety and compliance of the existing installation and its suitability for continued use.
Maintenance records (such as chimney sweep certificates) and installation certificates, along with any other available relevant documentation, if provided, will be included in the report but we stress these should not be relied upon as proof that an installation is safe or compliant for continued use.
Our reports therefore provide peace-of-mind for both the buyer and vendor that the solid fuel appliance is fit for purpose and poses no risk or threat of damage or injury to either the property occupants or the property itself.
